(Central Islip, NY) Nesconset Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (NCN), along with Nesconset Adult Day Health Services (NADHS), collected and donated various pet supplies for dogs, cats, and pets of all shapes and sizes, to New York State Senator Phil Boyle’s 4th Annual Pet Food Drive.

In conjunction with Live, Love, Bark and Long Island Cares, Senator Boyle’s Annual Pet Food Drive is an effort to help local animals in need. Items accepted included, but are not limited to, bags of pet food, canned food, pet treats, bedding, kitty litter, cages, collars, leashes and new pet toys.  This year’s drive resulted in over 1,452 pounds of donations in pet supplies.

Nesconset Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation continues to give back to the communities of Suffolk and Nassau counties in any capacity possible. “ There are many pets right here in Long Island that are in need of basic food and shelter essentials, and we were able to give back to the community and these animals in need,” said Erin Dipierro, Director of Therapeutic Recreation & Volunteer Services at NCN. “It made us happy as an NCN family to participate in this successful pet drive.” This charitable event has proven to be a great way to provide struggling Long Islanders with the supplies they desperately need to care for their beloved family pets.
